Compendium Of A Postal Code Maps

March 26th, 2010 by Adriana Noton | No Comments | Filed in Technology

The use of the postal code map is becoming more popular as large companies and governmental agencies recognize the benefit of having a unique identifier for all of the cities in the world. Postal codes are used on a global basis with scanners in centralized postal stations that sort and distribute millions of letters, parcels and packages each day. The system of scanning posts is so efficient that the percentage of mail that is mishandled is minimal.

Many of the scanners used in centralized postal stations are designed to read bar codes that contain postal codes. Bar codes containing relevant data from the maps are affixed to envelopes and parcels and quickly distributed using the scanning machine.

Many of these scanners also are equipped to read handwritten letters and numbers on a parcel. When the letter goes through the scanning machine it translates the handwritten numbers and letters into codes that then transfer the letter to the appropriate distribution bin.

Postal stations are located in small towns and cities throughout the world. Postal employees collect and distribute mail in these small stations which are then collected by centralized postal collection teams. The centralized stations are located in large cities and often near airports.

The machines that are used in centralized stations are very large. They receive mail via a conveyor belt that narrows to a width that forces the letter under the scanner. When the letter has been scanned it is automatically transferred by conveyor belt to bins that are sent to distribution points locally, nationally, or internationally. When a department must manually sort mail that cannot be read by the scanner, the postal operator scans the handwritten numbers and letters. The data is then transferred to the main system which allows the scanning machine to read numbers and letters of that shape automatically when they are sent through the system again.

Inserting the wrong postal code can cause a letter to go awry. The letter or parcel may wind up in a foreign country and not be returned to the sender for several years. This is not the case when no number is put on the parcel. In that case a postal officer puts the proper postal code on the letter using information collected from the postal code map.

All scanning machines are connected using a global postal map that is contained in the hard drive of each machine. The data is regularly updated and is continually being improved to make the system more efficient. In some cases, the scanners are set to read the number closed to that shown on the postal map. When this number is incorrect, the letter can be lost.

When you need a postal code it is very easy to get the postal code map for your local area or region. Many people find that they are able to access a database of postal codes through websites that focus on the codes in different countries or regions.

Large companies are finding that using postal code maps as part of the electronic systems for tracking clients is cost effective and efficient. The codes assigned to each country, region, and city in the world are unique and make it very easy for large companies to electronically organize and store client records easily.

Should You Believe The Hype About The Google HTC Nexus One? We Think So

March 23rd, 2010 by Thomas Stevens | No Comments | Filed in Technology

Google’s first officially sponsored phone was launched with a lot of hype and heralded as another “iPhone killer”. Initially available in the US only with T-Mobile service, AT&T and Sprint will soon sign on as carriers as well. You can expect Verizon Wireless to soon follow suit as well. If we were judging the HTC Nexus One on pure looks alone it would get the highest marks. The elegant curves, huge display and brushed metal back make this a delight to look at. But this is a smartphone so let’s see what the rest of the phone has to offer…

Pros:

-Super fast with a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor and 512 MB of RAM/ROM makes response time practically instantaneous

-Battery life is pretty good considering it’s a smartphone, very close in comparison to Blackberry’s battery life.

-OMLED touch screen display has a resolution of 800×480

-OS 2.1 is great with new animations and brilliant live wallpaper.

-The Google Apps currently available are very useful and many more apps are anticipated for the coming year

-Full 5 Megapixel camera with flash, video recording with 720p output

-Curvaceous elegant design in a pencil-thin frame

-Dual phone microphone, 1 for talk, the other for noise-canceling

Cons:

-The speakers have to be set at max volume just to hear the other caller

-After long periods of use the phone will heat up a bit

-On-screen keyboard a little too sensitive (however some like it for the same reason)

-Screen is difficult to see in bright sunlight

-The trackball doesn’t need to be used most of the time

The positives for the Google Nexus One blow away the few negatives we found. And the potential for Google Apps really makes this phone appealing, especially since AT&T and Sprint will be jumping on board. By the time Verizon gets a contract done the Nexus One may give the iPhone a run for its money if it continue to be exclusive with AT&T.

Canon EOS Prices : Uncover Which Camera Isn’t Worth Its Value

February 26th, 2010 by Alfred Axelford | No Comments | Filed in Technology

You’re searching for a good solid camera, you are taking a look at Canon EOS prices…

You’ve without a doubt made 1 action to the correct way…I am a very passionate Canon man, and therefore I’m of the opinion that Canon’s series of EOS dSLRs outshines Sony’s or other competitors.

Nevertheless, You already know that, let’s talk Canon EOS prices.

Now,Here are a few issues that you ought to watch out for.

How hold on, I’m not saying that Canon’s looking to jip anyone out of your funds, nevertheless there are some EOSs which merely are not worth their cost.

I would like to talk to you concerning 1 of these today.

The camera I am discussing is the 1Ds Mark 3.

Now, I understand this will be a more advanced camera ( costs close to $6k), and thus it is not likely a thing you’d be interested in anyhow…

But the same methods connect with just about all cameras, and you may make use of these kinds of considerations while looking at different Canon EOS prices.

I’d prefer to look at several standards that this 1Ds Mark III doesn’t meet, as well as the reason it is not really worth its price tag when compared to some other EOS prices.

Very first above all, it was made obsolete by way of a new product (Canon EOS 1D Mark IV). Now, usually this is not a problem, as the new model can push the older model lower in cost…

Nevertheless in cases like this, you’ll find only adequate special capabilities on the Mark 3 that it’s kept a huge price tag, and the truth is it’s MORE expensive compared to the new dSLR.

Exactly why is that? First it has a fill size sensor. Two it has a higher Megapixel count.

Now This will bring us to our 2nd point…It would seem that that must make the 1Ds Mark III a superior dSLR, but when you read up a little about it, you are going to see that, though the 1Ds Mark 3 is a superb camera, its image quality simply doesn’t compare with the 1D Mark IV.

Thus my second criteria is that at a lower price, you receive better image quality.

Truly, the only purpose for which you would need the Mark III is for if anyone HAD TO HAVE a full size sensor or maybe the added Megapixel (Except if you are making massive full-size paper prints, this isn’t you).

Another point to bear in mind while looking at Canon EOS prices, and also the final point that puts the Mark 3 back, is when it had been unveiled it possessed a lot of troubles. It was under-developed at the time of launch.

Canon has taken measures to enhance new digital cameras, and there have been software improvements to help address the problems, yet if you see a camera such as this, you have to be cautious. Should you for some reason get unlucky and get an less recently created product, then you are in for some trouble!

That’s it. 3 requirements to bear in mind while looking at Canon EOS prices. We’ve utilized these types of reasons for the Mark 3 to assist you to recognize these things in other digital cameras.

At this point, I know I simply discussed a single model of digital camera, therefore if you want some more information, this is what I propose:

To get more information on Canon EOS prices, I recommend you look at www.CanonCameraEOS.com. You’ll find tons of free information, as well as in-depth reviews.
